Normal Culture Launch July 2020
go for it.
I started rebranding Normal Culture during the pandemic. I was living in NYC at the time and trying to figure out how to make money while everything in the world was pretty much “shutdown”. Resources and fabric options were limited, so I had to think of other options.
Fast forward a few months. LA was becoming my second home. I already had a group of manufacturers to work with, so now I needed to come up with solid designs. I remember sitting on the plane with a brand new sketch book and allowing my pencil and creativity to go wild. I designed ,my entire first collection on the flight from NYC to LA. It was life changing.
I secured an office space and immediately got to work. the collection was everything I loved and wanted to buy rom other companies, however it just wasn’t available. it was important to me to create pieces that had dual purposes. In this collection there was a lot of mesh, fishnet and bright orange. This first cut and sew collection taught me a lot. I was able to see what consumers actually liked, what needed to be tweaked and how to market my brand to the perfect customers.
I didn’t allow the world being practically shut down stop me from following my dream. I used it as a driving force to really get in my bag. I wanted to be known as a true fashion designer, so I had to take the necessary steps to get myself and my brand in alignment.
LONG STORY SHORT, “GO FOR IT!”
